This bright orange cheese crackers box is packed with smiling scalloped crackers, cheddar wedges, and a silly nutrition panel on the back. If you are looking for a cute chips paper squishy template for your snack collection, this free printable comes in 3 versions—full color, a coloring page, and a blank box—formatted for US Letter and A4 paper. Your finished snack box measures about 2.4 × 3.1 in (6.0 × 8.0 cm) and pairs wonderfully with a cheese wedge squishy or a chips bag squishy.
What you need
How to make it, step by step
1Print the template
Print your chosen cheese crackers sheet at 100% on plain printer paper, making sure to turn off the “fit to page” setting. Check the scale bar at the top right so it measures exactly 2 inches (50 mm on A4). Using the coloring page? Color the bold “Cheesy Crackers” lettering, the happy cracker mascot, and the little cheese wedges in warm yellows and oranges right now.
2Tape the motif
Lay strips of wide clear packing tape across the entire printed cracker box net, making sure to cover the yellow and blue tabs too. Smooth each strip down from the center outward without stretching the tape. This gives your snack box a glossy, crinkly finish that looks just like real packaging and keeps the paper from tearing when you squish it.
3Cut it out
Use your scissors to cut neatly along the solid black outer line of the template, keeping all the yellow and blue tabs attached. Take your time around the angled corners of the top and bottom flaps. Make sure you do not cut any of the interior dashed lines—those are the fold lines that form the rectangular snack box.
4Pre-fold every tab
Line up your ruler with each dashed line and run an empty pen along it to score the paper. Fold every single tab and box edge inward toward the blank white side once, then unfold it again. Because laminated paper is stiff, pre-creasing the vertical wall lines and the flap edges now makes building the cracker box much easier.
5Make the walls
Bring the main panels—front, sides, and the “Squish Facts” back—around into a rectangular ring with the artwork facing out. Dab a little glue onto the long yellow side tab and press it inside the opposite wall to hold the ring together. Immediately place a strip of regular clear tape along the outside of that vertical seam from top to bottom.
6Close the bottom
Swipe glue onto the yellow tabs at the bottom of the box. Fold the orange patterned bottom flap inward and press it firmly against those glued tabs from the inside so the base sits flat and square. Leave the top flap with the blue tabs wide open for now—that is where your stuffing will go.
7Tape the bottom
Since glue only holds temporarily on slick packing tape, reinforce the base right away. Run strips of regular clear tape along the outside of every bottom edge, sealing the orange bottom panel to the front, back, and side walls. Press the tape down smoothly along the whole length of every seam so no stuffing can poke out.
8Stuff it
Push small, loose scrunches of plastic grocery bag or fluffy fiberfill down through the open top of the cracker box. Fill the bottom corners first, then work your way up toward the top. Keep the stuffing light and airy so the front mascot panel and the back nutrition panel stay nice and flat instead of rounding out.
9Close it
Fold the light blue tabs inward at the top of the box and bring the top lid down over them. Hold the lid shut while you seal every top edge from the outside with regular clear tape. Make sure each strip covers the full length of the seam so the top corners look crisp and neat.
10Squish!
Your cheese crackers box is ready! Give the middle of the box a good squeeze and watch the cheesy snack pack puff right back into shape. If it feels too bouncy or airtight, prick one tiny pinhole in an inconspicuous spot on a seam so the air escapes slowly for a satisfying slow-rising squish.

Tips for the perfect squish
- Keep the box corners crisp. Tall snack boxes look best with sharp vertical edges, so score every dashed line firmly with a ruler and an empty pen before folding.
- Prevent a bulging front panel. If the cute cracker mascot on the front looks rounded instead of flat, pull out a bit of stuffing so the rectangular walls stay straight.
- Fix a popping side seam. Glue will not hold on laminated paper by itself, so always cover the entire length of every seam from the outside with fresh clear tape.
- Smooth tape over the lettering. Wrinkles show up easily over the bright orange background, so lay shorter strips of packing tape down from the center without pulling.
Questions
Where can I find more paper squishy ideas for chips and salty snacks?
This cheese crackers box is a fun twist on classic chip bags and snack packs! To build a full snack-aisle collection, glue the yellow tabs to hold the box shape and seal every outside seam with clear tape so your squishies last.
Is there a black and white paper squishy template for coloring?
Yes! The free PDF includes a black and white coloring page version alongside the full-color cheese crackers design and a completely blank template. Color your box with markers or colored pencils before you put the packing tape on.
What paper works best for this cracker box?
Standard plain printer paper (80–100 gsm / 20–24 lb) is ideal. Heavy cardstock becomes way too stiff once covered in packing tape and won’t squish nicely.
What should I stuff my paper squishy with?
Plastic grocery bags give the cracker box a fun, crinkly snack-pack feel, while fiberfill makes it super soft and plush. Whichever you choose, stuff it lightly so the box keeps its neat rectangular shape.
Can I make these with a classroom or party group?
Yes, this is a great group craft that takes about 45 minutes. Print one sheet per kid and pre-cut strips of clear tape on the edge of the table so you can help with scoring and taping while they color.
