Topped with a swirl of whipped cream, sprinkles, and a glossy red cherry, this pink strawberry shake cup is covered in tiny hearts and happy kawaii details. Grab the free milkshake paper squishy template below—the PDF includes 3 versions (full color, a coloring page, and a blank cup) in both US Letter and A4 sizes. Once folded and stuffed, it stands about 2.2 × 2.8 in (5.6 × 7.2 cm) and pairs adorably with our strawberry shortcake squishy.

What you need

How to make it, step by step

  1. Step 1: Print the template

    1Print the template

Print your chosen milkshake sheet at 100% on plain printer paper—make sure to turn off “fit to page” in your print settings. Check that the scale bar measures exactly 2 inches (50 mm on A4). Picked the coloring page? Color in the strawberries, sprinkles, and bubble letters now before adding any tape.

  2. Step 2: Tape the motif

    2Tape the motif

Cover the entire printed milkshake motif with wide clear packing tape, including the cherry lid, the pink bottom circle, and all yellow glue tabs. Smooth each strip outward from the center so bubbles don’t trap over the kawaii face, and don’t stretch the tape as you lay it down.

  3. Step 3: Cut it out

    3Cut it out

Cut neatly along the solid black outer line of the cup wrapper and circles. Take your time curving around the top whipped cream circle and the bottom base so both stay attached to the main wrapper. Don’t cut along any of the dashed lines.

  4. Step 4: Pre-fold every tab

    4Pre-fold every tab

Score all the dashed lines with an empty pen, following the gentle curve of the cup rims. Fold every yellow tab and both circle hinges inward toward the blank white side once to create a crisp crease, then open them again.

  5. Step 5: Snip the bottom tabs

    5Snip the bottom tabs

Look at the narrower bottom edge of the pink milkshake wrapper. Snip only the short lines between the yellow bottom tabs, stopping right up to the dashed fold line. Leave the top tabs along the wider drip edge for later.

  6. Step 6: Roll the wrapper

    6Roll the wrapper

Roll the wrapper into a tapered tube with the strawberry milkshake picture on the outside. Glue the long yellow side tab inside the opposite edge to hold the cup shape, then tape the vertical seam from the outside along its whole length.

  7. Step 7: Glue the bottom on

    7Glue the bottom on

Fold all the bottom tabs inward. Put glue on their outer yellow side (which is now facing up), then fold the attached pink heart-patterned bottom circle onto the tabs. Press it firmly all around so the flat base of your cup sits evenly.

  8. Step 8: Tape the bottom

    8Tape the bottom

Glue alone doesn’t hold on tape, so reinforce the base right away. Tape the bottom edge of the milkshake cup all the way around with overlapping strips of clear tape to lock the circular base securely in place.

  9. Step 9: Snip the top tabs

    9Snip the top tabs

Now move up to the wider top rim with the frosting drips. Snip the short lines between the yellow top tabs right up to the dashed fold line, taking care around the hinge holding the cherry and whipped cream lid.

  10. Step 10: Stuff it

    10Stuff it

Stand your milkshake cup upright and keep the cherry lid folded back out of the way. Stuff the cup lightly through the open top with fiberfill or plastic bag pieces so the rounded walls feel plush without bulging.

  11. Step 11: Glue the lid on

    11Glue the lid on

Fold the top yellow tabs in over the stuffing. Put glue on their outer yellow side (now facing up), then fold the whipped cream and cherry lid down onto them and press it firmly around the rim.

  12. Step 12: Tape the lid

    12Tape the lid

Glue alone doesn’t hold on tape. Tape the whipped cream lid’s edge all the way around with overlapping strips of clear tape—the tape holds your milkshake closed for good when you squeeze it.

  13. Step 13: Squish!

    13Squish!

Done! Give your strawberry milkshake cup a squeeze and watch the whipped cream top puff right back up. If you want a slow-rising squishy, prick one tiny pinhole to let the air escape slowly.

Tips for the perfect squish

  • Keep the cup rim round. The top and bottom edges of the milkshake wrapper are slightly curved so the cup tapers outward. Score every dashed line with an empty pen and a ruler before you fold so the rim bends cleanly instead of creasing.
  • Seal popping cup seams. Because the tapered wrapper is under gentle tension, glue alone won’t hold on the slick tape surface. If a side or rim seam pops open, put a new strip of clear tape along the whole seam.
  • Avoid wrinkles on the face. A tape crease right across the kawaii eyes or the “SHAKE” lettering stands out on the pink cup. Use shorter strips of packing tape and lay them on without pulling.
  • Fix a bulging base. If your milkshake cup rocks instead of standing flat on its pink heart bottom, there is too much stuffing inside. Take some out before taping the lid so the sides and base stay flat.

Questions

Can I assemble the milkshake cup using only glue?

No, glue just holds the yellow tabs in place while you build. It doesn’t stick to tape-covered paper for long, so every glued seam around the side, bottom, and whipped cream lid gets a strip of clear tape from the outside.

What paper works best for a printable paper squishy template?

Plain printer paper (80–100 gsm / 20–24 lb) works best. Cardstock is hard to fold into a tapered cup once it is taped and makes the squishy stiff.

What can I stuff my milkshake paper squishy with?

Use plastic grocery bags for a crinkly, light feel or fiberfill for a soft bounce. Stuff the cup lightly so the tapered shape stays neat.

Do you have other sweet drink or ice cream paper squishy ideas?

Yes! If you want to craft a whole retro dessert stand alongside an ice cream paper squishy, pair this shake with our strawberry milk squishy for a matching pink treat set.

Can I make these with a class or a party group?

Yes! Print one sheet per person and cut tape strips in advance. Kids can color the black-and-white milkshake coloring page while you help with scoring and taping—plan about 45 minutes.
