What you need
How to make it, step by step
1Print the template
Print your chocolate milk carton template at 100% on plain printer paper—make sure to turn off the “fit to page” setting. Check the scale bar at the top right; it should measure exactly 2 inches (50 mm on A4). If you chose the coloring page, color the chocolate bar, milk splashes, and heart details now.
2Tape the motif
Lay strips of wide clear packing tape across the entire chocolate milk design, making sure all the yellow and blue tabs are covered too. Smooth each strip outward from the center without stretching the tape, which keeps the glossy surface over the “Choco Milk” lettering and “Squish Facts” panel free of bubbles.
3Cut it out
Use your scissors to cut neatly along the solid black outer boundary of the milk carton net, keeping all the yellow glue tabs and blue tape tabs attached. Take your time around the pointed gable roof peaks and the corners around the top fins. Do not cut any of the dashed interior lines.
4Pre-fold every tab
Line up your ruler along every dashed line—around the four carton walls, the roof triangles, the top fins, and the polka-dot bottom flap—and score firmly with an empty pen. Fold every single tab and crease line inward toward the blank white back once, then unfold it; taped paper is much harder to fold cleanly later.
5Make the walls
Bring the four main panels of the carton around into a rectangular ring with the chocolate artwork facing out. Put a dab of glue on the long yellow side tab to tack it inside the opposite wall, lining up the brown chocolate drips at the corner, then run a strip of regular clear tape along the entire outside seam.
6Build the roof
Fold both slanted roof sides inward and glue their yellow tabs inside the triangular chocolate-dipped gables to form the pitched top. Add glue to the two rectangular top fins, press them flat back to back, and secure the top ridge with a strip of clear tape. Leave the bottom flap open for filling.
7Tape the roof
Since craft glue alone doesn’t hold on slick packing tape, reinforce the whole gable roof now. Place strips of regular clear tape over every slanted roof edge and horizontal shoulder seam from the outside, running the tape along the full length of each edge so no stuffing can push the corners open.
8Stuff it
Turn your chocolate milk carton upside down and gently tuck small pieces of plastic bag or fluffy fiberfill through the open bottom. Keep the stuffing light and airy so the flat walls with the smiling chocolate bar and “Squish Facts” panel don’t bow outward, and fill only up to the roof.
9Close it
Fold the 3 light blue tabs inward and close the brown heart-patterned bottom lid over the opening like a real carton base. Hold the flap shut and tape every bottom edge from the outside with strips of regular clear tape, covering each seam all along the edge from corner to corner.
10Squish!
Your 3D chocolate milk squishy is done—give the sides a gentle squeeze and watch the carton puff right back into shape! If the air feels completely trapped and you want a slow-rising squishy, prick one tiny pinhole to let the air escape slowly.

Tips for the perfect squish
- Crooked gable roof corners. Score every dashed triangle and ridge line firmly with an empty pen and ruler before folding so the chocolate-dipped roof snaps into sharp, even angles.
- Roof seams popping open. Glue doesn’t hold on tape-covered paper, so press a fresh strip of clear tape along the entire length of any slanted roof seam that lifts.
- Rounded, bulging carton walls. If the front Choco Milk panel looks puffed out like a pillow, take out a bit of stuffing so the sides stay flat and boxy.
- Cloudy wrinkles on dark brown. Wrinkles show up easily over the dark chocolate drips; use shorter strips of packing tape and lay them down gently without pulling.
Questions
How do you make a 3D milk paper squishy hold its box shape?
Scoring every dashed line with a ruler and an empty pen before folding gives the carton crisp corners, and stuffing only up to the roof line keeps the walls flat instead of round.
Can I assemble the milk carton squishy with only glue?
No, glue just holds the yellow tabs in place while you build. Because glue doesn’t stick to tape-covered paper for long, every glued seam gets a strip of clear tape from the outside.
What paper works best for a milk carton paper squishy template?
Plain printer paper (80–100 gsm / 20–24 lb) works best. Cardstock is hard to fold once it is taped and makes the squishy stiff.
Can I make this chocolate milk squishy bigger?
Yes! Print the template larger on a bigger sheet of paper—all parts of the carton are one piece, so they always fit together, or keep it at 100% for the standard 1.8 × 3.6 in (4.6 × 9.2 cm) size.
Can I make this craft with a classroom or party group?
Yes! Print one sheet per person and cut tape strips in advance. Plan about 45 minutes so kids can color the coloring page while you help with scoring and taping.
